Outside the Classroom

There’s lots to do here at WPI and in the surrounding Worcester area to complement the skills you will gain from the classroom, make connections, explore passions, and have fun.

You can join fraternity or sorority life, meet friends and have fun as members of any of our 235+ clubs and organizations, offer your talents in building or constructing Lego models, connect with students who have a love for the arts, or hone your leadership skills through one of our many leadership programs—and that’s just the beginning.

Here at WPI, you’ll not only learn—you’ll have a great time, meet new people, and make connections that will last long after you leave campus.

So what are you waiting for? Learn more about opportunities to get involved at WPI.

Join us every Friday afternoon during the summer months for fun, informational, virtual events with your classmates and fellow WPI students! Check out these upcoming events and mark your calendars. Information coming soon on future events, so check back regularly.

Getting Involved

Are you a gamer who lives to play? A sports enthusiast who needs to compete? A musician who loves to perform? A cheese connoisseur who…well, loves cheese? At WPI, we’ve got a club for that. In fact, with over 235 student organizations, we’ve got something for everyone—including you.

Fraternities and sororities are founded on the principles of scholarship, leadership, and community service. In addition to developing leadership skills, attending social events, and serving the community, being in a fraternity or sorority is about forging friendships that will last far beyond the college years.

There are a variety of peer leadership and networking & professional development programs, initiatives, and services to enhance and develop your leadership skills at WPI. Leadership opportunities include everything from getting involved in student government or your class board; supporting your peers as a tutor or resident advisor; educating fellow students about important health and wellness issues; and collaborating with industry leaders to hone your networking skills.

At WPI, we believe strongly in giving back to our local community through community service, and encourage all our students to make a difference through the many opportunities right here in our backyard. With support from the university, you can meet new people, help others, and even earn work-study funds at the same time.

With hundreds of student clubs and organizations, a wide variety of vibrant events and activities, and an exciting urban environment, there is always something to do at WPI and in Worcester.
