Get Connected

Create WPI email address, gain access to your online accounts.

By mid May, you will receive an email at the address listed on your application.  This will contain your WPI email address. Use these to gain access to your online accounts by referencing our First Time Login  instructions. You will need this to do much of the remaining tasks. If you have difficulty, please contact the WPI helpdesk at

Review WPI computer recommendations.

Although you are not required to purchase your own computer, most students prefer the convenience of being connected to the WPI Network and Internet from their rooms. Review computer recommendations and specifications .

Student ID Information.

Residential Students: Upload a photo for your student ID through the online Housing Portal.  

Commuter Students: Follow the instructions on the ID Services website to submit a ticket for your student ID. 

Complete Workday Onboarding

You will receive and email in your WPI account regarding onboarding steps you will need to complete in Workday such as reviewing your legal name, contact information and home information on file. Workday Onboarding must be completed to allow you to register for courses. Follow these instructions for more information.

Take the math placement exam.

Log in with your WPI login information to take the math placement exam before you register for classes. The math placement test will be available as of May 24.  Math Test Tips. Take note of your score for registration purposes.

Housing Accommodations through the OAS Links and Files:

Review your housing options.

Review the type and location of WPI residence halls. The Class of 2025 housing application will be available to fill out when you receive your WPI credentials.

Review your dining options.

Review the meal plan options now so that you’ll be prepared to choose the one that best fits your preferences and lifestyle. Meal plan selection is also due July 31.

Housing Request Open.

Log into the Housing Portal any time after you have set up your WPI accounts. The Class of 2025 housing application will be available to fill out when you receive your WPI credentials.  Housing selection will take place in Mid-July. Meal Plan Selections are due in July after the housing selection process is complete. Information can be found at our website.

Students Seeking Housing Accommodations

Complete forms through the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS).

Log in and fill out the Accommodated Housing Form and the Disability Verification for Housing Form. The deadline to apply for accommodated housing is June 15.

Health Services

Health Services Links and Files:

Start preparing your immunization information.

  • As a student, you will need to provide your medical history, immunization records, and physical examination records. You will have access to the portal after you have registered for courses.

Additional Information

International Students

International Students Links and Files:

Start visa process by obtaining an I-20 form.

  • Review the visa process.
  • Complete the Certification of Finances form and submit to the Admissions Office by email at or mail to WPI, Bartlett Center, 100 Institute Road, Worcester, MA 01609-2280. The admissions office will issue you an I-20 once they have received this form.

You don’t need to wait to complete more steps. Move onto tasks due by June 30.
